iDiscover

iDiscover runs for 5 weeks and consists of day programs and camps throughout the Sydney and Blue Mountains Region.  Participants have the ability to receive a Statement of Attainment in Outdoor Recreation as well as the opportunity to participate in Work Experience.  The final week of the program consists of Work Readiness Skills.

iDiscover is a Bush Adventure Therapy program targeting young people 16-25 years who are disconnected from education, employment and communities.

Bush Adventure Therapy is a diverse field of practice combining adventure and outdoor environments with the intention to achieve therapeutic outcomes for those involved.

The overall aim of iDiscover is to take young people to an environment where they can contemplate change and gain a different perspective on their life and future opportunities whilst learning and practicing life skills.  The program is viewed as a catalyst for change and incorporates nationally recognised training.

This intensive adventure based program challenges all participants on their leadership, conflict management skills, ability to work effectively with others, and feedback skills.  It also focuses on reflecting on past decisions and implementing strategies to ensure positive future choices.  Being active in the outdoors combined with intentional therapeutic content provides an enriched holistic program where current life choices and consequences are explored and future directions are discovered.
